Metallica celebrates 40 years with a show in San Francisco; check out the videos and the full setlist.

It started with "Hit The Lights," the first song from Metallica's first album, and ended with "Spit Out The Bone," the last song from their last album.

Last Friday, December 17th, Metallica played the first of two shows to celebrate the band's 40th anniversary. The event took place at the Chase Center in San Francisco, the band's hometown, and as usual, it was sold out.

Ennio Morricone 's soundtrack from the film The Good, The Bad and The Ugly , this time included images from the band's entire career and a moving narration by actor Jason Momoa .

Check out several videos of the performance below and the complete setlist, which began with "Hit The Lights," the first song from Metallica's first album, and ended with "Spit Out The Bone," the last song from their latest album.

The show also featured "Trapped Under Ice," which hadn't been played since 2012, and "Fixxxer," which had never been performed live before. The setlist tells the story of Metallica in chronological order.
