Metallica finally return to Brazil in 2022 for shows in four Brazilian cities, with Porto Alegre confirmed on the tour. But some fans in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul have expressed dissatisfaction with the venue in a petition.
The petition created on the specialized website Avaaz has already collected more than 2,300 signatures and requests that the performance be moved back to the Arena do Grêmio, where the 2020 show was originally announced, or even to the Beira-Rio Stadium, instead of the FIERGS (Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul) venue.
According to those responsible for the petition, "many fans" are even considering giving up on going to the Metallica show in the city because of the location and supposedly poor acoustics of FIERGS. "A show by a band with the magnitude of Metallica should take place in special venues, since this also impacts the fan experience," the text states .
