Metallica releases a stripped-down version of "Blackened" recorded in isolation; watch it

Metallica surprised their fans by releasing a very different version of the classic "Blackened" .

The video shows the four members in their homes, respecting isolation and social distancing due to the coronavirus.

The song features James Hetfield playing an acoustic guitar, giving a light, almost acoustic feel to one of Metallica's heaviest songs.

The other three members, Lars Ulrich , Kirk Hammett , and Robert Trujillo, play their traditional instruments but also with much less heavy rhythms.

"Blackened" is the opening track of the legendary 1989 ...And Justice For All
