Metallica , in partnership with the American , announced a campaign to raise awareness among its fans about blood donation in the country.
The foundation of the band, All Within My Hands (AWMH), aims to ensure that hospital blood banks remain well-stocked, especially during the summer.
Dubbed Metallica x Red Cross Blood Drive , the event will take place during the North American leg of the M72 Tour .
The first stop will be on April 14th and 18th in Liverpool, New York, and it will conclude on June 23rd and 24th in Denver, Colorado.
Daren Irby , the company's CEO, said [via Blabbermouth ]:
"The Red Cross is incredibly grateful that Metallica is helping to replenish the blood supply this summer. The band and their foundation are committed to making every tour stop a better place."
"This selfless act of bringing fans together to donate blood will soon leave a legacy that will save the lives of many communities."
People who donate will receive an exclusive, limited-edition t-shirt from the campaign and will also be helping to save lives.
The requirements for donation are: weighing over 50kg and being in good health, but it's important to note that each state has its own rules. More information is available on the official website .
