Earlier this week , Metallica released a statement on social media announcing the postponement of their South American tour due to the novel coronavirus. Today, the 25th, Live Nation, the production company responsible for the band's tour in the continent, announced the new dates for the shows in Brazil.
The tour will begin on December 14th in Porto Alegre at the FIERGS parking lot – originally, the group was scheduled to perform in April at the Arena do Grêmio, but due to the stadium's sporting calendar, the production company had to move the show to a different location.
The group will then go to Curitiba to play on the 16th at the Couto Pereira Stadium, and then to the Morumbi Stadium in São Paulo on the 18th, and to the Mineirão Stadium in Belo Horizonte on the 20th.
In the statement, the production company advises that tickets purchased for the April dates will be valid for the new date, and that a refund option will soon be available for those who prefer it. Information about this and other processes, such as sector reallocations in Porto Alegre, will be available on the Eventim website soon.
