More than just a retrospective of the band's career, Metallica Saved My Life is a celebration of the community formed around Metallica. A film made by fans, for fans.
The band stated in an official statement ( via Metal Injection ): “As some of you already know, we’ve been working behind the scenes for the past few years on a new film that will be released later this year, starring you! This film explores our world through the lives of fans who have supported each other through challenges and triumphs for over four decades. And yes, we also appear a little bit in it.”
Although the film is still in the final stages of production, the members of Metallica are offering fans the opportunity to watch exclusive previews before the official release, as part of their North American tour. Tickets are limited to two per person, and the band has stated that they intend to open additional screenings if demand exceeds the initial capacity.
"If the film isn't coming to your city or if you can't attend this time, don't worry; the full documentary should be released later this year," they assured.
The band also expressed gratitude to the fans who participated in the production. “To all the fans who generously dedicated their time to us and allowed us into their lives, we say: 'thank you'. This film is about you!”
Metallica Saved My Life promises to be more than just a film about music; it's a tribute to loyalty, resilience, and the strength of a community that transcends generations. The full release is scheduled for later this year.
