Metallica announced this Thursday, the 22nd, a massive European tour on their official Instagram . The bands scheduled to accompany Metallica between May and July are Gojira , Pantera , Knocked Loose , and Avatar .
The band will maintain the “no repeat weekends” format on 4 of the announced dates, which consists of 2 nights with different setlists and different opening bands. This is the format the group has maintained since the release of the album 72 Seasons (2023).
Ticket sales will begin on Friday, May 30th at 10:00 AM local time. The pre-sale for fan club members begins on Tuesday, May 27th, at 11:00 AM local time.
The shows in Frankfurt, Germany and Dublin, Ireland will be their first since 2009. Metallica is currently on tour in North America, a tour that will end in June.
Following Black Sabbath 's farewell tour , in which the quartet was invited to participate, they will tour Australia, Asia, and the Middle East between November and December.
Regarding Metallica's backing bands
Gojira won the 2025 Grammy for Best Metal Performance with Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça Ira!)" which they performed at the last Olympics. As announced, the French band will also play at Sabbath's farewell concert.
Knocked Loose will be touring Europe, including a set at the Outbreak in London, before a North American tour later in the year.
Finally, Avatar, who confirmed a new album for this year , will headline their first arena show on Halloween at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City.
