Video challenges are trending on social media, and now headbangers have a challenge designed especially for metal fans. Can you resist headbanging while listening to classics from Megadeth, Metallica , and other giants of the genre?
With thousands of entries on Instagram alone, the "Try Not to Headbang Challenge" consists of listening to a selection of metal music excerpts and trying not to give in to the urge to headbang until the end, which also includes Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Korn , and Ozzy Osbourne .
While some videos show metalheads more focused on "winning" the challenge than having fun, a German fan posted one of the funniest and most relatable videos, clearly showing the effort required to avoid violently headbanging to the music.
Even while nodding his head to the rhythm, at one point in the challenge, he seems on the verge of tears from the difficulty of not actually headbanging. "The pain in your face... I understand you, man," commented one follower.
