The Danish band Meridian has released the music video for "Easy Lover," a cover of the classic by Phil Collins and Phillip Bailey , and Wikimetal exclusively showcases the new release, which is the last release before the launch of the EP Taking Over , which arrives tomorrow via Mighty Music.
Each member chose a song for the project, and “Easy Lover” was the choice of vocalist Lars Marker , who said in a press release, “I chose this song because I listened to it a lot in my childhood and it always made me happy. I like the melody in the song and I think it’s one of the best duets ever made. I thought it might be fun to do a duet with Martin [J. Andersen] from the band. I like our version, we made it our own, but still respecting the original.”
The EP Taking Over features six covers of classic rock and pop songs from the 80s, but adapted to Meridian's personality and touch, which they execute masterfully.
