Members of Decapitated are accused of rape.
The Polish band Decapitated has been officially charged with rape following a complaint from a woman in Spokane, Washington.
According to the victim, she and a friend were at the Decapitated concert and after the show ended, they went to talk to the band members, who invited them for drinks on the band's tour bus.
The victim was taken to the hospital after the incident, where it was confirmed that she had serious injuries to her arm, consistent with having been held against her will.
Rafal Piotrowski (vocals), Waclaw Kieltyka (guitar), Michal Lysejko (drums), and Hubert Wiecek (bass) have been charged, while Kieltyka “Vogg” is yet to face trial.
The band released a statement regarding the accusation:
"After being extradited from California to Washington, the band was indicted. We would like to make it clear that the Spokane Police Department officially charged the band, otherwise they would be obligated to release them – this is not a sentence or any indication of innocence or guilt."
Again, we ask that everyone wait for both sides to be heard and judged in court. That said, both are preparing to present their side of the story, but some facts are irrefutable – such as the officer who heard the original accusation saying, 'I have no proof that the rape actually happened.'"
The statement concludes with the band denying the accusations and saying they are confident that after all the facts have been heard, they will be released.
