The Melvins announced last Tuesday, the 6th, a new studio album titled Tarantula Heart. The album will be released on April 19th.
Tarantula Heart was announced as one of the band's most eccentric works to date. Production and mixing are handled by Toshi Kasai , and it features guest appearances by musicians Roy Mayorga of Ministry , Gary Chester of We Are The Asteroid , and of course, King Buzzo , better known as Buzz Osborne .
In a press release, Buzz Osborne says: “The way we approached Tarantula Heart was unlike any other Melvins album. I invited Dale and Roy Mayorga to play along with Steven and me on some riffs, then I did those sessions and figured out which parts worked and wrote new songs that fit. This isn't a studio approach we've ever taken; normally we have the songs written before we start recording!”

The American band also released a video for their new single, "Working The Ditch".
Dates for the band's 2024 performances have not yet been announced, however, King Buzzo and Trevor Dunn will be touring North American cities in August and September. DJ Pinkus will also be on the tour.
