Megadeth: Watch Marty Friedman's audition for the band in 1989.

The guitarist played "Wake Me Up Dead" alongside his future bandmates.

Last Thursday, the 24th, Megadeth 's Rust In Peace Marty Friedman 's audition for the band.

In the video, the guitarist plays “Wake Me Up Dead” from the 1986 album Peace Sells… but Who's Buying , alongside Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, and Nick Menza , symbolizing the end (at least momentarily) of the search for a new guitarist, a role that was even offered to Dimebag Darrell . This lineup would be present on three more of the band's albums, and the members would remain together until 1998 when Menza left the group, followed shortly after by Marty a year later, leaving Mustaine and Ellefson once again searching for new members.
