Last weekend, April 13th and 14th, Megadeth played their first two shows in Argentina. They took place at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires. Even though the stadium has a capacity of 15,000 people, both shows were sold out. Finally, the band will perform one more show on the 16th.
The group performed a 15-song setlist. Two tracks from their latest album, The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!, were included. The first song was the title track, and the other was “We'll Be Back.” Just like in Peru, the band treated fans to the acclaimed track “Devil's Island,” which hadn't been performed live since 2014. The complete setlist can be found at the end of the article.
After the first show sold out within minutes of going on sale, the band added another. Just like the first, this second show sold out in two hours. Finally, the band added a final show in the city, which will take place this Tuesday.
30 years after Megadeth's first show in Argentina
Megadeth's first show in Argentina was on December 2, 1994, at the Obras Sanitarias stadium. During the concert, the audience chanted "Aguante Megadeth" during the song "Symphony Of Destruction," which in Portuguese would be something like "Megadeth rocks."
On April 18th, it's Brazil's turn. The band will perform a unique show at Espaço Unimed. In the meantime, check out some videos from the Argentina show below.
