Megadeth guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari recently gave an interview to Mxdwn Video, in which he shared his experiences working with Dave Mustaine .
During the conversation, Teemu mentioned how he adapted to Mustaine's style, especially in the rhythmic parts, where the guitarist is known for being very technical, and how learning the old songs has been helpful. He also expressed excitement about writing his first album with Dave and highlighted the importance of learning from more experienced musicians.
Teemu Mäntysaari ( via Brave Words ) : “I think we get along very well musically as well, and I’m constantly listening and observing what he’s doing, trying to pick up little things and, in a way, adapt my style a bit to his style. Especially in the rhythmic parts he does; they’re amazing things, for sure. And we talk about learning the songs, the old catalog, which has been very helpful in dissecting the old songs.”
“I’m really looking forward to writing with Dave as well. It’s like with all the guys… I try to learn all the time. And, for me, it’s always been really cool to be able to play with guys who, in some way, are better than you. That way, you can always learn from them.”
