Megadeth farewell album this Friday, the 23rd . Simply titled Megadeth , the album is released by vocalist Dave Mustaine Tradecraft
In addition to the 10 tracks, the band recorded three bonus songs. Among them is the highly anticipated new version of Metallica's "Ride The Lightning . In an interview, Mustaine said that the decision to re-record the track is to mark the closing of a cycle, without major changes compared to the original track.
According to a review posted by Wikimetal , Megadeth doesn't introduce new elements on the new album, but uses already established resources to create a final narrative. "Even though it's not as direct as its predecessor The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! (2022), the album stands out as a good release overall. The highlight is the high level of collaboration among all the members – with only one track written entirely by Dave – something that would have been impossible in the past. Traversing all its eras, Megadeth closes its musical chapter in a cohesive and solid way."
Last Thursday, the 22nd, the band also released the documentary Megadeth: Behind The Mask, which was shown worldwide in cinemas and in Brazil.
Megadeth has confirmed a single show in Brazil for May 2nd, at Espaço Unimed in São Paulo, as part of their Farewell Tour . Tickets are already sold out.
In a recent interview, Dave Mustaine assured that there will be no special invitations for former Megadeth members at any show.
