Dave Mustaine , frontman of Megadeth , announced that he is now on the Cameo , an online platform that allows interaction between fans and artists through personalized videos from celebrities.
Cameo works like this: you register on the app, choose the artist or celebrity you want, and order a personalized video from them especially for you. Birthday messages are the most popular on the platform, but you can request any message you want. In Mustaine's case, the price is $150 per video, approximately R$750 at the current exchange rate.
Megadeth's lead singer released a video on his social media announcing the news. In it, the musician says: "If you want to really get to know me, meet me on Cameo." Watch the video below.
The app was created by Steven Galanis in Chicago in 2017, but it was in 2020 that the platform grew and reached the milestone of 40,000 registered artists. Each artist or celebrity chooses their own rate, and it was a great distraction, as well as an alternative source of income, for artists during the pandemic. Cameo has already raised over $1 million for NGOs through the Cameo Cares program.
