Mustaine revealed the information in an interview
During an appearance on SiriusXM , Dave Mustaine confirmed once again that he is working on a new Megadeth .
“We are putting all the pieces together now,” he said. “ Kiko Loureiro and Dirk Verbeuren have already started recording. We are finalizing all the details. We intend to release it in the spring [autumn, in Brazil] of next year,” he revealed.
Mustaine said he is very happy with the new drummer. Verbeuren was recommended to join the band by Chris Adler .
“We posted a short clip of him and people freaked out. And that’s how I feel. I see him play and I just laugh. When we play live I don’t look at him, I look at the audience. And Kiko said [imitating a Brazilian accent], ‘You’ll find out he’s the best drummer Megadeth has ever had.’ Okay, I agree,” he joked.
Dave also spoke about Loureiro, a Brazilian known for his previous work with Angra .
“Well, that’s what’s strange, too, when music transcends the language barrier. When we talk, sometimes I don’t understand what he’s saying. But when it’s about music, I always understand what he’s saying,” Mustaine stated.
