Megadeth and Marty Friedman reunite live after 23 years; check out the videos.

The reunion took place at a concert in Japan, where Friedman has lived since 2003.

The long-awaited meeting between Megadeth and Marty Friedman finally took place on the evening of the 27th, according to Japan's time zone.

As previously announced , the guitarist reunited with his former band for an exclusive performance during a show in Tokyo at the Nippon Budokan Arena. Multiple videos from the evening are already circulating online, immortalizing the historic moment.

Marty Friedman, who has lived in Japan since 2003, has become a cultural ambassador for the country, which makes his performance with Megadeth even more special.

Before the performance, Dave Mustaine commented (via Loudwire ): “Marty and I have remained friends for over 23 years, since we last played together. However, I listen to his music every night and he remains one of the greatest guitarists I’ve ever heard. This is a great gift for the fans and for myself. To be honest, I might get distracted listening to Kiko [ Loureiro ] and Marty playing together.”

Marty Friedman took to the stage to play “Countdown to Extinction” and remained on stage for a jam session with Dave Mustaine and the rest of the band on “Tornado of Souls” and “Symphony of Destruction”.
