Megadeth announced that they will release the documentary Megadeth: Behind The Mask in a worldwide theatrical release on January 22, 2026, shortly before the release of their final studio album.
The film, produced in partnership with Trafalgar Releasing , will be shown in over 1,000 cinemas across more than 35 countries. Tickets go on sale starting December 11, 2025. More information is available on the Megadeth Film website .
In the documentary, vocalist and founder Dave Mustaine revisits four decades of Megadeth's journey, with "a retrospective interview covering their entire career" and Mustaine's track-by-track reflections on the final album.
In a press release, Dave commented: “This listening event is going to be incredible. I can’t wait to share it with thousands of my closest friends around the world. I’m so grateful to everyone who helped bring this film to life, especially you, the fans! Now let’s get started… and get the popcorn ready!”
In addition, fans will have the chance to hear the band's new album , played in its entirety as part of the cinema experience, for the first time.
Megadeth has confirmed a single performance in Brazil on May 2, 2026, at Espaço Unimed in São Paulo, as part of their Farewell Tour . Tickets are already sold out.
