Megadeth performed at the Hellfest festival in Clisson, France, this past Sunday, the 24th, and dedicated the track “My Last Words” from the album Peace Sells… but Who's Buying? (1986) to Vinnie Paul , drummer and co-founder of Pantera , Damageplan and Hellyeah , who passed away at the age of 54 this weekend.
“We’re going to play this song for you. We played it for the first time in 20 years last night. And we played it for a friend of ours who passed away. This song is for you, Vinnie,” said frontman Dave Mustaine seconds before the song began.
Vinnie Paul passed away on Friday night, the 22nd, while sleeping after suffering a heart attack . This information has not yet been confirmed by the drummer's family.
