Megadeth has already been working on their next album , the successor to The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! (2022). The thrash metal band is in the final stages of recording, as vocalist Dave Mustaine announced on social media that he has begun recording the vocals.

Vocals are usually the last tracks to be recorded when producing an album. That said, it's expected that the band will soon release their seventeenth studio album.

The album will be the first with the new guitarist, Teemu Mäntysaari , selected to replace Kiko Loureiro in 2023.

Replacing former bassist David Ellefson , who was expelled from the band following a controversy involving sexual conduct with a minor , will be new member James LoMenzo .
