Megadeth was born from a personal tragedy for Dave Mustaine . The young musician's alcoholism resulted in his dismissal from Metallica in 1983, but this twist of fate gave the world one of the greatest thrash metal bands of all time.
With 38 years on the road, the band is preparing for the release of The Sick, The Dying And The Dead Wikimetal editorial and design team evaluated the artwork of each album released by the band to date.
Just like in the rankings of Iron Maiden , Metallica , and Helloween , the criteria are based exclusively on the visual aspect of each album, without judging the sonic content of the records.

The Top 5 was dominated by classic and commercially successful albums from the group, with Rust in Peace (1990) in fourth position. The band's second album, So Far, So Good… So What! (1988), despite being well-received and featuring "In My Darkest Hour," was poorly received due to its cover art, placing it among the band's worst. See the full ranking below.
