On social media, the band only posted an image with the slogan "The end is near." Although there are no clues as to what to expect when the countdown ends, it's likely to be the announcement of Megadeth's new album.
There's also a chance it could be a celebration of the 35th anniversary of the album Rust In Peace , with a box set release and a reissue of the album.
