Megadeth releases new song “We'll Be Back” with cinematic music video.

The video is the first part of a trilogy of short films.

The wait is over! This Thursday, the 23rd, Megadeth released the new single “We'll Be Back” and officially announced their next album, The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!

Despite being the first single of the new era, “We'll Be Back” is the last of 12 tracks that make up Megadeth's new album. The song was released along with a music video that is actually a short film, called “We'll Be Back: Chapter I”.

The video traces the origins of Megadeth's mascot, Vic Rattlehead , and was produced by Dave Mustaine . According to a press release, the short film is described as "a tale of bravery, personal sacrifice and a soldier's will to live," and is the first of a trilogy of videos that will complement the album.

The announcement of The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! comes shortly after the band launched a mysterious conceptual website for fans to register their email addresses. However, the Megadeth album has been in production for many years and has had to be interrupted twice – first in 2019 due to Dave Mustaine being diagnosed with throat cancer , and more recently with the hasty replacement of bassist David Ellefson .
