Felipe Andreoli , bassist for Angra , was among the Megadeth fans to replace David Ellefson in the band. After much speculation about the possibility, the musician addressed the rumors.
It all started with a short video of Dave Mustaine with the band's "mystery bassist" hiding in the studio, in which an Ibanez bass model can be seen. Speculation quickly took shape in fan forums, and Andreoli's name was mentioned several times, as the Brazilian is sponsored by the musical instrument brand and is friends with Kiko Loureiro .
Colisão podcast , the musician answered the question definitively. “To be honest, Kiko sent my material. He even sent a video of me playing a Megadeth song, which is on my channel, and a Metallica as well,” he said. “But no, I’m not the bassist who recorded the Megadeth album.”

Besides questions from fans, even close friends of Andreoli sent messages to the musician with the same question. “Many people didn’t realize that they are recording the CD in the United States and the bassist is there at the moment, or at least was. The border is closed [to Brazil],” he pointed out.
With this confirmation, everything indicates that Steve DiGiorgio , from Testament , is indeed the chosen one for the bass position – and Andreoli approves of the choice. “It would be awesome and, in fact, he uses the same model,” he commented.
In an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil , Loureiro said that he still doesn't have confirmation about the new member of the band. "I can't reveal who the bassist will be yet because I don't have 100% confirmation of who it is," the guitarist stated. "I gave my suggestions [of musicians], but there are several things to consider, such as musical compatibility and availability. But the final decision will be officially announced on the right day."
