The 35th anniversary party of the production company TopLink was a true spectacle that brought together fans, industry professionals, and icons of the scene. The event, held at the traditional Manifesto Bar , not only celebrated more than three decades of the production company , but also celebrated the passion for music that unites everyone present.
The warm-up began with the house band playing everything from Metallica to Raimundos for an hour, enough time to get the crowd ready for what was to come. A master of ceremonies announced the jam sessions and called up the guests.
TopLink 's party was packed with jams.
The first jam session featured Luís Mariutti ( Shaman , Angra , ShamAngra ), Clemente ( Inocentes , Plebe Rude ), and presenter and YouTuber Regis Tadeu on drums, playing Plebe Rude's "Até Quando Esperar." Unusual, to say the least, but it went well. Metal arrived in the next jam, this time with Felipe Machado ( VIPER ) on guitar and Mayara Puertas ( Torture Squad ) tearing it up on vocals with two Black Sabbath : "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and "Children Of The Grave." With a team like that playing Sabbath, you can't go wrong, can you?
Singer Lobão followed, accompanied by Marcelo Barbosa (Angra) on guitar, to play "Vida Bandida." The solo was by Angra's guitarist, who was amazing. And who ever imagined Rafael Bittencourt (Angra) playing "Revanche" with Lobão? It happened and it was sensational. They did an incredible version with several improvisations by Rafael. With the same team, they also played "Vida Louca Vida," a classic from Lobão's partnership with Cazuza . It was one hit after another and the audience went wild. Lobão's farewell was in great style and alongside Luís Carlini ( Tutti Frutti ). Those who guessed they would play "Ovelha Negra" were right; the song has one of the most iconic solos in Brazilian rock and was performed with passion by its creator. Definitely one of the highlights of the party.
The party atmosphere was one of celebration and nostalgia, with live performances that left everyone ecstatic. In this unpretentious atmosphere, one of the interactions between the musicians that most caught the attention was when a member of the TopLink went up to sing "Rebel Yell" alongside Baffo Neto ( Project46 ) and Amilcar Christófaro (Torture Squad). It was Renato Carvalho (producer) on vocals, killing it in this incredible cover. The similarity in their voices was impressive.
From Billy Idol to Queensrÿche, from Scorpions to Rita Lee, amazing covers!
Out of character, Bruno Sutter ( Massacration ) took over the bass on two more Sabbath covers. This time, they chose "NIB" and "War Pigs." And wouldn't you know it, Bruno held his own on the bass lines? Only this kind of event could provide this kind of thing that will hardly be repeated. Now, who would have imagined Regis Tadeu playing with Massacration? That's what happened next, and the crowd went wild with "Metal Bucetation" and "Metal Is The Law." Not even in my wildest daydreams could I have imagined such a combination.
The final jam sessions of the night featured Marcelo Barbosa and Fabio Lione Queensrÿche 's "Silent Lucidity," and Yohan Kisser Scorpions ' "Big City Nights ." Following that, Matanza Ritual paid tribute to Motörhead with "Ace Of Spades," Pavilhão 9 Rage Against The Machine 's "Killing In The Name ," and Torture Squad closed the event with "Tie Your Mother Down," ending the party on a high note.
TopLink 's 35th anniversary celebration was not just a milestone for the production company, but a true tribute to the music that continues to inspire and unite people. The more than 3-hour show featured unimaginable collaborations that further solidified TopLink in the history of music entertainment.
