Meat Loaf gave an interview to the Daily Mail and commented on the planet's climate change and criticized the young environmental activist Greta Thunberg .
At 17, Greta is known worldwide for her actions in defense of the environment, and in 2019 she was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and named Person of the Year by Time . However, hard rocker Meat Loaf believes the young woman should be occupying her time with something else.
“I feel sorry for Greta,” he said, “She’s been brainwashed into thinking there’s climate change, because there isn’t. She hasn’t done anything wrong, but she’s been forced to believe that what she’s saying is true.”
Meat Loaf also made international headlines after joining the UK-famous Frankie & Benny Veganuary , which encourages people to spend the month of January consuming vegan food, hoping that it will slowly become a permanent habit.
To promote the campaign, a video was released showing that Meat Loaf refused to change his name to something vegan – watch the video below. Marvin Lee Aday , the musician's real name, was a vegetarian for 11 years and returned to eating meat for "health reasons, as a way to lose weight".
Furthermore, Meat Loaf also commented on his political preferences, revealing that he is "neither right nor left." "I have a lot of left-leaning thoughts and a lot of right-leaning thoughts, and that doesn't put me in the middle. I don't know what that makes me. It makes me feel strange."
