Fans were expecting the album to be released in the first half of 2018
Tool's new album has been one of the most anticipated in the last two years, and fans may have to wait at least a few more months.
Maynard James Keenan, the band's vocalist, revealed on his official Twitter that the album will not be released this summer (or our winter) after a fan posted that drummer Danny Carey had confirmed the release.
The confusion arose because of an interview Carey gave to the British publication Kerrang! where he said that the tracks were almost finished, “The tracks are long… too long! They’re definitely too long for radio! [laughs]”.
A few days later, guitarist Adam Jones revealed that "the songs are ready and the lyrics are coming together perfectly ." This created great anticipation among fans to hear the album sometime this semester.
Despite Keenan's statement, it is still unknown when the album will be released, but fans speculate that we will have news at the beginning of the second half of the year.
Not. Coming out this summer. Not.
