Maynard James Keenan , vocalist for Tool , A Perfect Circle , and Puscifer , has contracted COVID-19 for the fourth time, most recently at the end of May when Tool embarked on their European tour.

Keenan revealed that he contracted COVID-19 in October 2020, when he confirmed that he was also suffering from side effects from the first time he contracted the disease in February. The effects included lung damage, cough, and inflammation in his hands and wrists. Then, in April of last year, he told Loudwire in an interview that he had gone to the emergency room to be treated for his second bout of COVID, which preceded the one in October 2020.

Next, the vocalist said he caught the disease for the third time, and now, in an interview with AZ Central , he revealed that he tested positive for the fourth time. He was in Europe between April 23rd and May 24th with Tool on the tour promoting the 2019 album Fear Inoculum . There, he contracted the disease, but this time it was milder. "It was a cold. It's over now," he said about the fourth experience.

Despite surprising many, the four times he contracted Covid-19 didn't surprise Keenan. "I mean, when you're in a place with thousands of people, it's going to be transmitted. You use the subway and travel ten hours by plane, you're going to catch it."

Now, the musician will rest and prepare to go on tour with Puscifer in the United States, which will take place between June 9th and July 10th. See the dates here.
