Cavalera celebrates 30 years of the album Chaos AD.

Max and Iggor Cavalera spent a good amount of time touring the world celebrating the 20th anniversary of Roots , and the 30th anniversaries of Beneath The Remains and Arise , respectively, all albums from the brothers' time in Sepultura.

During a February 2023 interview with Radioactive MikeZ , Max Cavalera spoke about the 30th anniversary of Chaos AD [transcript via Blabbermouth ].

“These albums, for me, are like children. I like to celebrate their birthdays. I almost feel like I need to buy a cake and have a real birthday party on the day the album is released,” Max said.

“No, I think we celebrate through music, because we’re doing all these cool tours to celebrate music,” he continued. “Of course, I’m not saying we’ll do a Chaos AD , but if it happens, it’ll be really cool… Chaos AD opens with the heartbeat of my son Zyon . It’s a very special record. It’s almost like a turning point in metal, one of those records that kind of breaks the mold of what metal can be. Because before Chaos AD everything was super fast and aggressive, and I think with Chaos AD we showed that there’s another way to make aggressive music, a little slower and more groove-oriented, with things like ‘Territory,’ ‘Slave New World,’ and ‘Refuse/Resist.’”
