Cavalera , the project of Max and Iggor Cavalera , announced this Monday, the 15th, an exclusive show on November 13th at Espaço Unimed in São Paulo, with Massive Attack as . Tickets will be available starting September 16th at noon on the Eventim website.
The event aims to support and give visibility to the efforts of the indigenous peoples of Brazil and the G9 Amazon (indigenous organizations from nine Amazonian countries) in achieving climate justice, recognition, and immediate protection of indigenous lands in the country..
In a press release, Max and Iggor Cavalera emphasized:
“In times of such prevalent polarization, when people feel divided and distracted, we are honored to join forces with Massive Attack and the Indigenous Peoples of Brazil and the Amazon to weave a narrative of positivity and change. We are very excited to work alongside a band like Massive Attack and have been fans for many years. We cultivate a close relationship with Indigenous peoples and have worked alongside them for many years. It is a privilege to share the stage with both.”
This uniquely diverse show will take place as world leaders, global corporations, and the broader climate movement arrive in Brazil for the COP 30 summit, hosted in the Amazon region of Belém. While other cultural events will be promoted by transnational brands and Western NGOs, Massive Attack and Cavalera designed this event in São Paulo with interventions in direct coordination with indigenous groups, in support of the urgent demands of this community.
Representatives of these peoples will be present at the show, and the two bands will also promote efforts in Brazil to support the demands of the Amazonian indigenous movement, which is accommodated and engaged at the highest political level. More announcements about this work will be made soon.
