Recently, in an exclusive interview with journalist Keefy from the news portal Ghost Cult , Max Cavalera , currently touring with his project Go Ahead and Die Soulfly album , the successor to the acclaimed Totem released in 2022.
During the conversation, the musician revealed that, although he is developing new ideas for the band's next work, the realization of this project may not happen as soon as some fans would like. Despite not having any release date set, the Brazilian only stated that he does not intend to reveal anything before 2025.
Max shared his reflections on his creative process, expressing his preference for composing when he's in the comfort of his home, away from the obligations of the road. “I kind of like being at home and thinking about writing and only then do I fully delve into it. Right now it's all Go Ahead and Die, but yeah, eventually I'll start working on something new for Soulfly,” he explains.
While the band throws itself body and soul into touring its new project, Cavalera acknowledged that the current focus is entirely on that. However, he assured fans that Soulfly is still on the horizon, promising that the creative process for the next album is underway.
Go Ahead and Die features an interesting family dynamic, where Max shares the stage with his son Igor Amadeus Cavalera . This father-son collaboration adds an extra layer of meaning to the Cavalera family's musical journey, providing fans with an even more intimate and authentic experience, both in the creative process and during live performances.
