Max Cavalera , guitarist, vocalist and leader of Soulfly , said that guitarist Marc Rizzo , who had been part of the band since 2004, left for personal reasons.

The Brazilian musician spoke about Marc's departure during the most recent edition of the Max Trax . “Now, for the tribe [of fans], I want to address something that's happening with Soulfly. Of course, it's about Marc Rizzo. He didn't leave the band. We decided to part ways for personal reasons. I wish Marc the best in his career. I want to thank Marc for his 18 years with Soulfly.”

Marc Rizzo was a member of Soulfly between 2004 and 2021, during which time he recorded eight albums with the band. He will be temporarily replaced by Dino Cazares of Fear Factory . Last week, he spoke to fans on social media and said he wants to work on a solo project. “It’s simply better for me. It’s a healthier environment for me and my family. Being home more, and doing my solo project, which I’m super excited about.”
