Max recounts how he annoyed his idol.

In an interview with the website RockSverige.se, vocalist Max Cavalera recalled his first meeting with Lemmy. Check out his statement:

The 11 best Motörhead songs

“My relationship with him didn’t start well. We got off on the wrong foot. I was very young and Sepultura was opening for them in Germany. We did a photoshoot and I arrived with wine and I kept throwing it all over him. I was being a complete idiot. In my head, I thought it was Rock N’ Roll. I can understand now how he looked at me and only saw an arrogant, drunken idiot in the middle of the afternoon. Just being a complete idiot. Then, at their last show, we went in naked and ruined their show, he just wanted to kill me. He told Gloria, 'It’s better that this guy doesn’t come near me.' And I thought, 'I annoyed one of my biggest idols. How did this happen?' because I loved the guy and his music. When I first met him it was really cool, I was annoying him and he emptied a glass of whiskey on my head.” I thought it was the coolest thing and I thought I'd been baptized and I thought, 'That's it!', but he only did it to push me away (...). I didn't shower for a week. The most incredible thing was after one of our shows in the UK, right after Dana's death. He heard about it and came to tell me he was very sorry and said, 'By the way, everything's fine between us. You're fine with me.' And I thought, 'Great. Finally.'
