Max Cavalera 's musical aspirations have always found common ground within his family, starting with his brother Iggor , with whom he formed Sepultura in 1984. Even after both founders left the band, the family's artistic paths remain intertwined.

Currently, Iggor and Max are reunited in Cavalera Conspiracy , while the older brother is proud to play with his sons in two different projects: Zyon is the drummer in Soulfly , while Igor is the singer, bassist, and guitarist in Go Ahead and Die .

The Wikimetal Happy Hour program , the musician commented that there is a constantly evolving "Cavalera empire," a vision shared with his wife and manager, Gloria.

“The coolest thing is that I never forced music on them. I always thought that if you force something on your children, most of the time they're going to rebel against what you're forcing,” Max pointed out. “If I forced music, if I forced metal on them, they would rebel against the music and end up making me angry, they could become psychologists, lawyers… It would even be good to have one in the family, to tell you the truth (laughs). But I'm so happy that they ended up being musicians, everyone is involved.”

While Go Ahead and Die has just released their first studio album, featuring protest songs and a sound that represents Max's "return to his roots," Soulfly is currently recording their twelfth studio album. "He's more classic, he likes Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath , he's more into drummers like Keith Moon . He reminds me a lot of Keith Moon, the way he plays, watching videos, it's similar," he compared. "I told him, 'You look like a new Keith Moon, from the metal world.'" The legendary drummer of The Who is frequently listed as one of the best of all time .
