Max Cavalera mourns the death of his daughter Christina Stojanović

Max and Gloria Cavalera's daughter passed away after a long battle with health problems

Max Cavalera announced on social media the passing of his daughter, Christina Stojanović , after a long battle with health problems.

The message shared by Max and his wife, Gloria Cavalera , stated that Christina “found peace” after battling the illness, without disclosing details about the specific cause of death. Read the full statement:

"It is with profound sadness and sorrow that Max, Gloria, and the entire Cavalera family announce the passing of their beloved daughter, sister, and mother, Christina. After a long battle with illness, she found peace alongside her two sons, Adam and Moses , and her brother Dana. She leaves behind her two daughters, six brothers ( Nick, Jonathan, Richie, Jason, Zyon, and Igor ), and her sister Roxanne . Christina will forever be remembered as a pioneer in the world of metal, punk, and rock music, having worked her way from the underground to stadiums and arenas around the world, as well as being an inspiration and forerunner for women in the music industry. She had a smile that lit up any room, an unparalleled passion for life, and a strength of spirit that made her remarkable and unforgettable. Those who knew her know this to be true. We will miss her forever, Christina. We ask that you respect our peace and privacy during this difficult time and in our journey without her."

Christina, who was not the couple's biological daughter, played a key role behind the scenes in the family's musical career, working as a tour manager and assistant for the band Soulfly between 1997 and 2021, and is remembered as a role model and inspiration for women in metal, punk, and rock. The tribute highlighted her personal and professional impact.

In the early 2000s, the premature death of Christina's son Moses at the age of eight served as inspiration for the track "Moses," featured on the album Prophecy (2004), and also influenced the concept of Dark Ages (2005), both works by Soulfly .
