The process of writing the lyrics is not a part that Max Cavalera enjoys
Sepultura and Soulfly vocalist and guitarist Max Cavalera he doesn't enjoy writing song lyrics.
In an interview with Heavy New York , he said, “I really don’t like writing the lyrics. It’s something I’m forced to do. It’s like homework. For me, the cool part is the riffs; I was born for that. As for writing the lyrics, it’s an agonizing process. I know great things come out of it – inspiring things for people. But it’s not my favorite thing.”
Max said he only enjoys the lyrics when they work with the melody. “I like it when it clicks. For example, I was extremely happy when I finished 'Ritual'. It's really cool to see these songs emerging.”
Ritual , the new album by Max Cavalera, was released in October.
