Max Cavalera is on fire: after sharing that recordings for the new Soulfly are already underway , the artist announced a new band called Go Ahead And Die .
The band, which consists of Max, drummer Zach Coleman , and singer, bassist, guitarist, and Cavalera's son, Igor , got off to a great start by signing with metal giant Nuclear Blast .
“A unique collaboration, father and son bringing the old school with a new attitude!”, says Max about the project. “Igor’s sick riffs and abrasive lyrics and Zach Coleman’s ( Black Curse , Khemmis ) brutal drumming inspired me! Extreme times call for extreme music.”
“We are very excited to sign with Nuclear Blast . They are definitely the right choice for this colossally heavy album,” adds Igor. “GAAD will deliver accelerated, hate-fueled energy that hasn’t been heard in years.”
Zach also commented on the project, “I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of GAAD and to have the album released by Nuclear Blast ! I feel we were able to capture the (extreme) aggression with the album. It’s a mix of old school (think 1989 metal/punk era) and new sounds that reflect what’s happening around us. Protest and survive!”
The label itself also shared about hosting the band at their home, “With an album this heavy, brutal and furious, Go Ahead And Die will leave any metal fan with a smile on their face. With rock-sized riffs and a genuine, badass attitude that speaks to the horrors of today, this album will undoubtedly leave a mark on metal, and we are happy to be part of this journey.”
