Released 25 years ago, Roots Sepultura 's sixth album , marked the history of the band and heavy metal – and it couldn't be otherwise with an album that received Dimebag Darrell even before its release.

Speaking about bands with brothers he admires, Max Cavalera recounted the reaction of the Pantera upon hearing a demo of the album. “We went to Dimebag’s house to listen to Roots with them, he had a smoke machine, lights all around…”, he told The Pit (via Ultimate Guitar). “He put on Roots and started headbanging and drinking! That’s how you listen to the album, brother!”

The guitarist's positive reception was a great boost for Cavalera. "I thought, 'Man, this is the coolest thing that could have happened before the album was even released!' We already had Dimebag at his house," he celebrated.

Currently working on the debut album for Go Ahead And Die , a band formed with his son Igor Amadeus, Max revealed that the project will be "a protest." The self-titled album will be released on June 11th.
