Max and Igor Cavalera are currently touring with the “Third World Trilogy ,” a project revisiting Sepultura : Bestial Devastation , Morbid Visions , and Schizophrenia . While the current lineup of the Brazilian band undertakes its farewell tour, the brothers are forging their own path, keeping alive the essence of the group they helped found.
In an interview with radio host Full Metal Jackie , Max stated that although the band still carries the name Sepultura, the original spirit remains with him and Iggor. "Everyone knows it's not the same thing, it never will be. We're forging our own path, celebrating that material with our hearts," he affirmed.
Among the new features presented, the highlight is the previously unreleased song "Nightmares of Delirium," written by Max with lyrics by his son, Igor Amadeus. "We wanted to create something that sounded like it had been released in 1986. And we succeeded," said Max, about the song that complements the new version of Schizophrenia .
The relationship with his family remains a central pillar in Max's artistic life. With his wife Gloria managing his career, and his children performing as musicians in the bands Soulfly and Go Ahead and Die , the vocalist reinforces the value of keeping everything within the "Cavalera clan".
Also in 2025, Max will release a new album with Soulfly and plans Nailbomb in Europe. He also hints at new projects with Killer Be Killed , although he says he wants to slow down after decades of releasing albums non-stop.
When asked about unfulfilled dreams, Max replied without hesitation: "I'd like to tour large football stadiums. But, in the end, the love for music alone is worth everything. It's magical to be on stage."
