Matt Sorum , former drummer for Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver , is an avowed fan of Brazil. In 2020, Sorum launched the Viral Cure , which aims to raise funds for the Hospital das Clínicas in São Paulo and the USP Faculty of Medicine.
In a recent interview with Spin , Matt reaffirmed his love for Brazil and cited the country as one of the places he would like to be right now, second only to Italy. “Brazil has my heart too. It’s another country that knows how to enjoy life. My favorite places are Florianópolis, Paraty, Ilhabela, Bahia… they’re all insane. Beaches, sun, and beautiful people. I spend a lot of time there,” he stated.
