Sophie Lloyd , guitarist for Machine Gun Kelly , released her new single "Fall Of Man" last Thursday, the 23rd, featuring Trivium vocalist Matt Heafy . The music video for the heavy metal track is expected to be released soon.
“Working with Matt Heafy was a dream come true! Trivium has been one of my favorite bands since I was a kid. I used to paint my own Trivium t-shirts and wear them every day,” the guitarist said (via Louder Sound ).
“My co-writer/drummer Christopher Painter and I had a lot of fun experimenting with different rhythmic tempos and using some scales that I don’t traditionally use. Also, Matt writing and recording the song on Twitch was really cool, as we got real-time feedback from fans about what they wanted to hear. He really elevated the song to a metal masterpiece and I’m very excited for people to hear it!”
Heafy said: “Sophie Lloyd is an immensely talented force as a musician and songwriter. I remember seeing her play online for the first time and being really impressed – so as a fan of Sophie’s for many years, I was honored when I received the invitation to collaborate on a composition. When I found out that Trivium is one of Sophie’s long-time favorite bands – I felt humbled and grateful.”
“Fall Of Man” is part of Sophie Lloyd’s new album, Imposter Syndrome , which will be released via Autumn Records later in 2023. The project began promotion in November with the lead single “ Do Or Die ”. Further details have not yet been released.
Recently, Machine Gun Kelly's current guitarist had her name involved in the rapper's alleged separation from Megan Fox , prompting her team to release a statement. “Sophie Lloyd is a professional and talented musician who has been unnecessarily dragged into the media spotlight based on baseless accusations made on social media. Any suggestion that she ever acted unprofessionally or abandoned her relationship is false. It is disrespectful to her as a female artist and poor journalism and social commentary to report anything otherwise” (via People ).
