Matt Heafy, vocalist of Trivium, talks about Heavy Metal: "It's a lifestyle."

Trivium released their last album in 2017

Trivium's vocalist, Matt Heafy, spoke in an interview with Metal Hammer about Heavy Metal.

Asked what the word “Metal” means today, Matt said: “It means life. It means much more than a musical genre, and that’s something I’ve always stood for. Metal isn’t just a style of music, it’s a lifestyle.”

“Last year, when I had to make a list of the best albums released, just for fun, it was endless. There were so many great albums, it was ridiculous. So it’s a sign that Metal is alive and well, and I think that as long as the community and the bands continue to support each other, we’ll have something really good in the future.”.

In October 2017, the band released their eighth studio album, The Sin And The Sentence , and is currently touring the UK with Code Orange, Venom Prison, and Power Trip.
