Brent Hinds speaks in an interview

In an interview with Guitar World, Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds spoke about the upcoming Mastodon album:

“It looks like it’s going to be a double album. One of them is an album I wrote myself and recorded with Brann and Troy during the recording of “Once More Round The Sun”. My part is called “Cold Dark Place” and it’s about a really bad breakup I went through. I wrote dark, beautiful, scary, funky, ethereal, melancholic parts that sound a bit like the Bee Gees.”

The other guys are putting together another album that I haven't heard yet, so I can't tell you what it will sound like. But I'll be on it to add my own touches.”

Currently, Brent Hinds also works with the Giraffe Tongue Orchestra , a band that includes William DuVall (Alice In Chains) and Ben Weinman (Dillinger Escape Plan).
