Mastodon has released the documentary The Making Of Hushed & Grim . The 90-minute production discusses the creative process behind Hushed And Grim , the quartet's ninth studio album, released in October 2021.

Hushed And Grim is the successor to Emperor Of Sand (2017) and, according to the band, the album's creation process was influenced by the death of their manager Nick John , who was also a close friend of the group members. Nick passed away in September 2018 due to pancreatic cancer.

In the documentary, the group recounts the creative process behind the album and discusses their influences. The Making Of Hushed & Grim is available on the band's YouTube channel.
