The launch will take place on Record Store Day in April of this year

The death of manager Nick John was a difficult blow for Mastodon , who subsequently cancelled a tour with Dinosaur Jr. in September. The band will now honor him with a cover of Led Zeppelin .

The release will take place on Record Store Day, which happens on April 13th in various stores across the United States, and will be titled “Stairway to Nick John”. In a statement to the press, Mastodon explained that Led Zeppelin was John's favorite band.

“Stairway to Nick John” will have only 1,500 copies on vinyl and will feature both a studio and a live version. The track will also be available on streaming services in early May.
