Mastodon fans ! The band performed last Friday the 13th at the Adult Swim and announced on social media that they are back in the studio.
The successor to Emperor Of Sand has been delayed since last year, when the band planned to release a new album. In the meantime, the rarities album Medium Rarities was released, accumulating around 30 or 35 songs in the band's archive, drummer Brann Dailor told Consequence Of Sound . And now, with an Instagram post showing a recording studio and the caption "Guess what's happening?", the smell of a new album is in the air.
At the Adult Swim festival, the band performed five tracks, including "Thickening," "Steambreather," "The Motherload," and "Blood and Thunder," and even the first live performance of "Asleep in the Deep" from the album Once More 'Round the Sun.
