The song will be part of the soundtrack for the company's new comic book
Brann Dailor , drummer and co-vocalist of Mastodon , has released his first solo song. "Red Death" was inspired by a new DC Comics graphic novel, Dark Days: The Road To Metal.
“I’m very excited to be a part of this incredible collaboration. I’ve always been a fan of Batman and all the DC Comics stories, so the chance to be somehow connected to this universe is a dream come true,” confessed Dailor.
The musician had help from some colleagues in creating the track. Producer Mike Elizondo ( Eminem, Twenty-One Pilots ) was responsible for the bass, while former Marilyn Manson and film score composer Tyler Bates (Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy) and Gil Sharone of Dillinger Escape Plan also lent their talents.
According to a press release, "Red Death" will be the theme song for the villain in the new DC comic book. Listen to the track below.
