Mastodon has announced that their new album, titled Hushed And Grim , will be released on October 29th. To accompany the news, the band released the music video for the first single from this new era, “Pushing The Tides”.
This is Mastodon's first album in four years, following Emperor Of Sand , and the band has teamed up with Grammy -winning David Bottrill has worked with names like Muse , Dream Theater , and Tool .
In an interview conducted in March , guitarist Bill Kelliher said that Mastodon wasn't familiar with David Bottrill's work before, but that they were willing to try something new. “When we called David, he seemed like a great guy. He already had some of the demos, so he had a lot of notes. That's what you need a producer for – to think outside the box. The four of us had been playing the same songs for so long that you start to miss the details and think, 'Is this still good? Does it need something?
