, Metallica released a poll on social media asking fans what they considered the best song of their career.
The first round featured 60 songs and ended on June 4th. On the 18th, fans had to choose between the semi-finalists: “Master of Puppets” versus “Fade to Black”, “One” versus “Enter Sandman”. Four days later, fans chose “One” and “Master of Puppets” to compete for the title of best Metallica song.
This week the group announced the result, revealing that "Master of Puppets," the title track from their 1986 album, was the winner. At the event, Metallica recalled that the song was chosen to be part of the Library of Congress in 2016.
